Nehemiah
– sometimes we can get desensitized when we can’t see it or it doesn’t effect us // aka we become comfortable in our captivity
– until you allow God to change you from the inside out you’ll never know the truth
Galatians 4:7
How to Rebuild:
1. Recognize the Problem
– Nehemiah 1:3
– recognize and acknowledge that there is a problem
2. Respond to the Problem
– how do you respond to bad news?
– How we respond matters
– Nehemiah 1:4
– repentance—to turn away from your sins & mean it
– God can do great things through repentance
– sometimes broken times are the best place for God to work & get your attention
– Nehemiah 1:8-8
– Don’t just be a hearer of the word, be a doer of the word
3. Remain
– If you remain you’ll find there are two roads you can choose from
– but stay in the process, choose the narrow road, and be consistent
– consistency is the key to breakthrough
– Hope changes nothing, actions do
– We must have faith to go
– Nehemiah 2:7
– Proverbs 16:7
– sometimes you have to run the race even if you can’t see the finish line
– faith = trust
4. Take it to the King
– don’t get solutions from people who don’t have the answers
– only take advice from people who are where you want to be
– get advice from the King, the only one who truly knows the solution
– Nehemiah 2:3
– God doesn’t want just good things for our life, he wants great things for our life
While building is good, rebuilding is sometimes necessary
– be torn down to be built back up
