Holy Spirit

00:00 / 24:53

The Holy Spirit is sometimes misunderstood. He’s a person. Some people think he’s outdated.

The Holy Spirit is part of the holy trinity. He’s the helper.

Often he’s not talked about or set to the side. We know who Jesus is and we know who God is but we don’t always know who the Holy Spirit is exactly.

John 16:7

How can you look up to someone who hasn’t been through what you have been? The Holy Spirit has been through it all so he can relate to you.

Luke 24:4

You can’t let fear keep you from doing what you’re supposed to do.

Moses has a stutter, the prophets didn’t think people would come, we didn’t know if THIS

Ministry is seeing a need and filling it. It’s being available to be used by God.

Tarry means stay. Tarry in Jerusalem. Stay in the process. All you need to do is take one more step.

Patience produces power. You want to the power of God- wait on it.
God says sometimes it’ll take longer than you want it to.

Acts 2:1

God wouldn’t not fully pour out His power until they’re ready to receive it.

Luke 5:37

God isn’t going to leak out He’s going to pour out.

Acts 1:14

Sometimes you have to plant your feet and say “I’m not going anywhere!”
He will never leave or forsake you.

Acts 1:8

Acts 2:3-4

God took ordinary people and breathed life on them by the Holy Spirit.

Peter didn’t have a filter. He was always voicing in opinion. He raised His voice. Don’t worry about what you’re going to say, let the Holy Spirit do the talking for you. All you have to do is show up and be willing.

Luke 12:12

We don’t have it all together to be a minister of God. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in you. God is about to release a word on faith.

Went from coward to courageous.
Went from oppressed to possessed with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 5:28-29

If you want to grow the church, stay planted and invite the Holy Spirit in.

What if revival happened 365 days per year? It can. We need the Holy Spirit.

Acts 4:14

Sometimes you don’t need a touch, sometimes you just need the spirit to walk by you.

God wants to heal everyone, not just one person.

Do you want to grow? Do you want to see growth in your church? Do you want to see growth in your family? ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN YOU.

Open your mind. Open your heart. Let Him do the work only He can do in you.
Are you being lead by the Spirit? He will change your life if you let Him

What does God want to talk about when He created the ocean?

The salt of the Earth.

Are you thirsty or are you producing thirst?

The woman at the well was thirsty for belonging. She met there right man at the well.

John 4:13-14

Matthew 5:6

We have to change our desire. We’re thirsty for the wrong things- money, power, fame.

When you’re in the desert, the only thing that matters is getting a drink. We have to be thirsty for God.

We have to be thirsty for what God is doing in our lives.

Salt preserves. quit throwing salt on things that should be dead.

The world is drowning. We have to be life preservers instead of anchors.

We have to throw salt on our present and our future. What legacy are you leaving behind?

Are you the salt or are you salty? What does your speech say? What flavor are you leaving for the world?

Are we enhancing the flavor of life or making it inedible?

Colossians 4:6

Our testimony should never be private. You have to start to telling people about how God changes your life to make others thirsty for Him.

Quit telling everyone about every bad detail of your life- start telling them Psalms 34:8- TASTE AND SEE!

Salt is essential to life.

Our bodies don’t naturally produce salt. Our bodies need God.

Your flesh wants to fight against God.

Matthew 5:13

The world has watered down the salt. YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH.

Salt is the main ingredient of the Earth. God says you are the main ingredient of life

It can’t be temporary, it has to be a lifestyle.

Maybe you’ve lost your flavor, but maybe you just have to check yourself and season yourself with the world, or coming to church when you don’t feel like it.

Maybe you’ve been trying to add the wrong things to your life. Maybe there are some things you thought were supplements but they were actually substitutes.

God says add this and we say “eh tastes fine.”
God says take this away and we say, “but it’s always tasted this way.”
God says “if you start seasoning your life with me, I’ll give you something you’ve never tasted before.”

Maybe you’ve been trying to find out what’s going to fill you up.

The world is trying to dilute us down.

Taste and see that the Lord is good!

18: Kegan Wesley | What it Means When You Are Stretched

00:00 / 32:35

God isn’t looking for perfection, He is looking for progression. Life is filled with life lessons.

Being stretched and stretching faith.

Do you feel stretched?

God has called us to live a large life.
The head and not the tail.
The salt of the earth, not salty.

Philippians 3:12-14

You can’t say God use me and then say you feel used.
You can’t say make me a bridge, but then complain that you feel walked on/walked all over.

Be aware of what you can take. We want you to burn for Jesus, not be burned out.

Stretching can hurt.

Flex your faith. Being flexible with your faith and it’ll allow you to stretch yourself.

Your faith is like a rubber band. Your faith is pointless unless it’s stretched. Unless it’s stretched it won’t be properly used.

The rubber band has to be stretched beyond its regular form.

A lot of people look at the highlight reel. God looks at the hard work.

1 Samuel 17: 31

Esther 8:4

There’s a lot of grind that has to happen to get you to glory.

You can’t be distracted before destiny.

Failures and flaws- your issue is not your identity.
The struggle might be real but so is your savior.

Jesus says stretch out your weakness. In our weakness, He is made strong. God says worship me and I will fight on your behalf.

God says I can set you free if you stretch yourself.

God doesn’t have obstacles, He has opportunities.

2 Samuel 21:10-14

As Mothers we can be going into a difficult season, in a difficult season, or coming out of a difficult season.

We have to stand in the gap for our children.

We nag them, and lecture them but that doesn’t work. It makes them rebellious and distant, but when we push in prayer, we find break through.

James 5: 16

Ask, seek, and knock then believe that God can turn it around.

A mom’s love reminds me ya of Jesus’ love: UNCONDITIONAL.

Reckless love of Mom. There’s no wall you won’t kick down, lie you won’t tear down.

We don’t have to manipulate or control kids, give them to the Lord. They belong to God, we are to steward them well.

Acts 16:31
Joshua 24:15
Proverbs 22:6

Questions for Mother’s Day:
1. Will you grab ahold of the altar and pray until you see God change something in your kids life?
2. Are you willing to still fight, protect, and look a little crazy even if it looks like they’re dead?
3. Will you continue to love and serve your kids and other when they don’t appreciate it?
4. Will you never give up and quit?

There are times your kids will hate you, but you have to love them and never give up on them.

You are doing better than you think you are.

14: Mindy Watson | Tame Yo Tongue

00:00 / 23:36

Let’s go over the Book of James.

There’s the power of life and death in your tongue! TAME YOUR TONGUE

What if we tamed our tongue and didn’t run our mouths? We’d probably have a lot less drama in our lives🤷🏼‍♀️

Because we follow Jesus we should look, act, and talk differently.

We’re constantly pointing out everyone else’s “big” sins.

1. Know that what you say matters. Your words are either weapons or can bring healing.
2. You can’t change your mouth, you have to let Jesus change your heart.
3. Your life is leadership. Let your life do the talking. Tame your tongue so people want to listen to you.

Only what builds others up according to their needs, not your needs. What is it that others need?

It’s important to watch what comes out of your mouth.

Once you release what you say, you can’t get it back.

Keep pressing towards the goal. We want our words to bring life to people. I’m not where I want to be, but I’m better than I was.

James 3: 9-10

Quit working on the SYMPTOMS. Work on the disease.
People aren’t the problem. Get rid of your past hurt, get rid of the bitterness.

When people avoid us or don’t like us, it doesn’t have anything to do with us as people, but it has something to do with our mouths.

You become the crew you hang out with.

When someone says something hurtful, it’s because hurting people hurt people.

Jesus wants to heal you and make you whole.

God is an inside out God.

Matthew 15: 11

Jesus makes people BETTER not BITTER!

We can tame:

We lie to look better than we are, to gain attention, and we want to expose someone else to make them look bad but we don’t have the guts to say it to their face.

There’s some truth in every “just kidding.”

Wisdom doesn’t need to lie.

James 3:17

Wisdom is grateful and gentle. It gets along with everyone.

How would your world look when you become thankful/ grateful.

We can only love Louisville back to life when we tame our tongue and let our lives do the talking.

00:00 / 26:24

The church struggles because it’s stuck in the old way of doing thing.

Adapting doesn’t mean abandoning.

The methods can change but the message never changes.

Prayer change: Lord so far today i’ve done alright. I haven’t been nasty or selfish but in a few minutes I’m going to get out of bed and I’m going to need your help for the rest of the day.

Change is a cause to be different. A transformation. Change is a process. Change doesn’t happen over night. God starts the process of transformation.

To see change, you have to get tired of the world and your world. You have to get sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Church can’t be the only thing you do to change.
Get involved, walk like Jesus. Change only comes if you’re willing to do it. You’ll have to W-O-R-K for it.

True change takes place on the inside then it’ll show up on the outside.

5 steps to change:
1. Make up your mind. (Romans 12:2, Colossians 3:2)
2. Make a move.
3. Get alone.(Ephesians 4:22)
4. You have to stay connected. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
5. Learn to fly.

Chrysalis = Christ. Jesus is our protective coating and barrier.

A caterpillar crawls through life. They’re earth bound. They see through small eyes, and think small thoughts.

What is your perspective?

God didn’t design you to crawl around on the ground in the dirt.

A metamorphosis takes place when you allow change.

2 Corinthians 5:17

You are not who you used to be.
God wants you to stop looking back on your old ID. God wants you to look at His identification of you.

No two butterflies are alike. They’re unique just like you.

We have to live like masterpieces.
Colossians 3:2

Ephesians 2:6

We’ve been creeping around and now God says IT’S TIME TO FLY

Change is necessary. Change comes with giving your life to Jesus. God is looking to take you to new levels.

God wants to change you so completely that you won’t recognize yourself.

You’ll start thinking differently and acting differently. He will lead you and prompt you.

A butterfly came from a caterpillar that stayed in the process.

God always allows you to get back into the process.
